LEWIS PUGH


·         Lewis Pugh was born 5 December 1969 in Plymouth, England. His father was a surgeon (cirujano) in the Royal Navy. His mother Margery Pugh was A senior nurse (enfermera) in the Royal Navy too. In 2009 Pugh married Antoinette Malherbe, whom he met at school. He studied Politics and Law at the University of Cape Town, after moving to South Africa with his family as a child.

·         Lewis Pugh is best known for undertaking the first swim across the North Pole in 2007. Three years later in 2010 he swam across the glacial lake on Mount Everest. AFTER that, in 2013, he was inducted on the International Marathon Hall of Fame and finally, in 2016 he helped negotiate the creation of the biggest protected area in the world in the Ross Sea off Antarctica.
 

·         Lewis Pugh is the Pioneer swimmer who was the first man to swim in the North Pole. HE WAS the first to complete long distance swimming in all regions of the world and he also fights to protect oceans and ecosystems, while practicing as a maritime lawyer. (abogado)
